harder to stick to your diet when you visit your favorite fast food chain.
That's the provocative conclusion recently reached by researchers at Duke University. Through a series of experiments, the scientists found that having one healthy option can ironically make you more likely to pick out the worst food possible for you.

While they may not be for everybody, boot camps are quickly gaining popularity throughout the country based on their promise of offering noticeable results in exchange for a few weeks of hard work. Boot camps at the Y give you the added bonus of working with a nationally certified YMCA personal trainer at a fraction of the cost of a one-on-one personal training session.

That's the motivation behind the YMCA of Middle Tennessee's new Healthy Habits initiative. Starting this month, the Y will begin the process of transforming its wellness centers, program sites and other locations into places where living healthy can become a lifelong habit.

Your workout routine can be a lot like the closets in your home: a little spring cleaning can do it a lot of good.
According to health and wellness experts, our bodies naturally adapt to a particular workout routine after about six to eight weeks. The all-too-common result: we hit the dreaded "plateau," or point when we see diminishing returns to exercises that once worked wonders.
So before it gathers too much dust, here are a few simple ideas to shake up your exercise plan and give it that nice spring clean feeling:
